AYM is incorporated in the State of Wisconsin.  It operates from Virginia.  The organization conceived as a global movement and can be launched anywhere in the world with the same goals and objectives to extinguish African youth poverty through innovative strategies.

Our key strategy is creating employment, especially in rural communities.  Another is providing access to education through our supplementary programs.  There are two approaches to the supplementary education program.  One is through online tutoring and it targets young people in metro areas in Sierra Leone where Internet access may be available.  Mobile access may also be available for the online aspect of the program.

The AYM in the USA currently serves as a Coordinating center for the movement.  Like any current or future chapter, the idea is to build and enhance our model Sierra Leone program and then use our knowledge and experience to assist with the growth and expansion of other chapters.

In the USA

  • We raise money and other material resources for the Sierra Leone program.
  • We manage the recruitment and assignment of online volunteers for our supplementary education program through the United Nations Online Volunteering Services.
  • We recruit other chapter leaders and guide them to start a new chapter.
