Twenty-First Century African Youth Movement (AYM) is a growing rural community-focused initiative and the brainchild of Abu-Hassan (Askia) Koroma to engage the youth in the renaissance of Africa. The mission of AYM is to inspire Global will to reverse the social and economic marginalization of Africa through financial generosity and volunteer commitment in our Community Development Programs.
41A Momaligie Road, Mattru Jong, Bonthe District in Sierra Leone, West Africa, will serve as the AYM National as well as Global headquarters. The United States is serving as our International Coordinating Hub.
AYM is committed to developing a strong educational environment and creating a healthy community infrastructure for social and economic development by cultivating a harmonious relationship with the local communities in the areas we serve. Part of the AYM planned program of action involves providing supplementary education to facilitate the expansion of literacy within the operational areas. AYM is also committed to cultivating and harnessing local talents, ideas and opportunities to carry out its mission.
Therefore, AYM utilizes a diverse Volunteer Network with innovative initiatives to build its programs and improve on current and emerging projects. AYM has developed multiple and ongoing agricultural pilot programs within Jong, Kpanda-Kemoh, Sogbeni and Yawbecko Chiefdoms in the Bonthe District of Sierra Leone, West Africa.
Three key initial opportunities that AYM is developing are Vegetable Gardens, Rural-focused Tourism, and the Youth Business Mentoring and Development Program. The goal is to increase Economic, Educational and Cultural Opportunities for young people in the various independent states of Africa. |
